REC Program FAQs

Are you an educator seeking to advance your digital citizenship knowledge through a self-paced, hybrid, or in-person course? Learn more about how our program can help you develop a curriculum around digital responsibility in the classroom.

Respons-Able Educator Certificate Program (REC) is Digital Respons-Ability’s professional development program for educators, made available through any LMS your organization is currently using. The certification program will help educators enhance digital citizenship learning already happening in the classroom. With a wealth of information and resources provided by Digital Respons-Ability, educators can partner with parents to bring responsible digital citizenship practices home to their children.

Respons-Able educators are a valuable addition to any institution. Enrolling in the Respons-Able Educator Certification instills the expertise to create a robust digital learning plan at all levels – at home, in class, and beyond. This certification program is designed for secondary education teachers, school counselors, library and media specialists, and other educators who want to help keep kids safe online.

Elements of digital citizenship are found in many subjects, but not taught to students in a cohesive, research-based way. The REC program can be a part of Career and Technical Education (CTE), health and wellness classes, English Language Arts (ELA), part of STEM curricula, and more. Becoming a Respons-Able Educator means becoming a leader in prevention programs to keep students safe in your school community.
