When we make New Year’s Resolutions our attention often goes to things like losing weight, earning more money or finally taking that trip. We don’t always resolve to change the behaviors that frequently take up the most of our leisure time—technology.
Adults spend on 5 plus hours on their mobile devices every day, and that time doesn’t necessarily include time on other screens. To meet that weight loss goal, or save money for that trip, there is a pool of time available to be tapped into.
And what about children? Half of adults say their children have too much screen time.
The New Year is a great time to make goals and changes in behavior. Cutting back on screen time can free up other energy and hours for other goals.
Consider these tech resolutions for 2018:
I will not check my phone after 9pm
I will not pull my phone out during meal times with others
I will limit my TV watching to only my very favorite shows
I will put my phone on airplane mode at work
I will buy an alarm clock and keep my phone out of my bedroom
